We found this place after looking for somewhere local to have lunch, as we were visiting Dorking for the first time as part of a hen weekend. From the outset, Tony (the manager), was so helpful. We booked a table for 10 people for lunch on a Friday afternoon. On arrival we were really impressed, the pub is quaint, pretty and easily accessible from the main roads. Tony was exceptionally welcoming, and remembered us from booking. We all had lunch, and we had several (!!) bottles of red wine, white wine and prosecco. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. It was a shame that the weather didn't hold up (but it is March) because the outside terrace was so pretty & comfortable and the views were amazing! There are outside heaters and undercover shelter for the smokers - which was handy with the weather! Tony was the star of the show, checking in on us to see if we needed anything else, and very knowledgeable about the local area. If I ever venture back to Dorking again, I will definitely check back in here for lunch! Perfect service and setting. Highly recommended - thanks Tony :) Perfect Start To Hen Party Weekend, 16-03-18, Tripadvisor.com

My wife and I took her mother here for Sunday lunch today, and it was really tasty. We’d phoned a few other local pubs but found them fully booked as it was last minute, but the friendly guy who took our call at the King William was very accommodating, friendly and funny when we called. We booked the table we were after, and were assured that we would not be under pressure to make way for a later sitting, which meant we could enjoy a nice, relaxed lunch whilst enjoying the view. All of the staff were extremely friendly and made our visit a fun and enjoyable experience. Two of us had the calamari to start with, which was cooked just right, and the third had the goats cheese parcels which they seemed to enjoy. The traditional roasts followed, two beef and one lamb. My roast beef was superb, with a perfect Yorkshire pudding an extremely tasty gravy. Overall we had a great lunch, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Sunday roast Really Tasty, 04-02-18, Tripadvisor.com

And what a breath of fresh air compared to the chain pubs you find in towns and quasi gastro pubs that now masquerade as village inns. Easy to find, the King William V offers tradional British fayre cooked in style. The menu does not in anyway pretend to be pretentious, simply offers British food at it's finest. Staff are attentive and the pub small and cosey. On the downside, the gents toilets are a little agricultural, (age of the building being a factor,) and parking is nigh on non existence. Would recommend if you fancy a decent alternative to chain pub food. Just As A Proper Pub Should Be, 30-01-18, Tripadvisor.com

Fabulous meal - squid, steak- food was fresh, plentiful and excellent value. Served by Kathryn who was attentive, interested and friendly. Hidden away and perhaps better known to locals - just as well- free house with no ties therefore good beer and few microwaves! Hidden Gem, 09-12-17, Tripadvisor.com
