Had a wonderful birthday meal at the King William IV today. The food was excellent, much better than standard pub fare, and the service was fast, friendly and accommodating (especially considering we were a group of 16 and a group of 18 was at the other end of the pub). A great friendly atmosphere too, and being dog-friendly was a boon. Often when you eat out you spend time craning around looking for servers to ask where your food is, but not here. Even paying the bill was relatively simple! Abi and Kat and the rest of the team did a great job - we will definitely be back. *****, February 2017,

Sunday lunch after cold and wet hike along box hill. Very accommodating of our numerous and muddy group. Absolutely incredible roast, very well kept beer, friendly staff, perfect setting. Surely one of the best pubs in Surrey, if not the world! *****, January 2017,

As usual the 'King Bill' as we call it was up to its usual high standard last night! It is a cosy, warm and friendly pub/restaurant. The staff are welcoming, friendly and very professional. The food is delicious and freshly cooked - good solid pub food and really well priced. Thanks to the chef for the high standard. Thanks also to all the other staff who were all fantastic once again *****, January 2017,

What a little gem this place is! My friend and I were looking for a half way house (between Walton and Horsham) and decided to go for this one, tucked away off the A24. I arrived early to find a group of guys chatting over a pint and I sat down with a glass of good pinot noir and enjoyed the warm and friendly atmosphere until my friend arrived. She is lactose intolerant and has quite a number of food allergies so phoned in advance and the staff could not have been more helpful. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious, there is plenty of choice on the menu. Highly recommended! *****, December 2016,

We stopped by hoping that there would be a table for Sunday lunch, and as there were no free tables we were accommodated at a window shelf - much better than it sounds! The food was served exceptionally quickly, and was a very good Sunday roast, with very generous portions. The outstanding feature was the service - attentive and friendly. Would certainly return. EXCELLENT EVENING, FIRST VISIT, WE WILL BE BACK”, 14-11-2015,

Visited this delightfully intimate pub/restaurant with my husband today and had a wonderful meal with delicious flavours from their daily menu. We had steak with home made chips which was cooked to perfection and sea bass with sag aloo of equal quality. The service was welcoming and very attentive orchestrated by Tony. It is very popular so we recommend booking in advance. Valentines Day Evening, 14-02-2015,

Stayed near by and ventured to find this restaurant. It is not obvious but we had no problem finding it. As soon as you walk in you felt invited. The coal fireplace heated a charming narrow and very very old dining area. By far the best atmosphere in the region. I am from United States and eating in restaurants built in the 1600's is not common. The food was excellent and the service was attentive and excellent as well. I will definitely eat here again Little British Gem , 30-01-2015,
