Often described as "Surrey’s best kept secret”, many customers who have lived in and around the immediate area for years “never knew we were here”.
Indeed, we are tucked away, nestled on a hill with panoramic views of the Mole Valley. In summertime and springtime you can eat alfresco and enjoy those scenic views from our terrace. During autumn and winter the terrace stays open (and we have a canopy if its wet!) but you can also enjoy our cosy bar, award-winning fresh home-cooked food (view A La Carte Menu) and a selection of real ales near the warmth of a crackling log fire. We have a varied wine list and a good selection offered by the glass.
Stay and enjoy the ambience or take advantage of the wide variety of local walks in this area of outstanding natural beauty. We are ideally located if you are walking on Box Hill, Norbury Park or the Mickleham Downs, with direct access to the Box Hill Hike route, which runs right by the side of the pub. (The walk is described on the national trust website as the Box Hill Hike.)
Parking is free in the public parking spaces outside 51 Degrees North on the A24 between Leatherhead and Dorking. The 465 bus also conveniently stops outside our front door.
Eamonn and Anne bought this historic pub in 2012 and have since been rewarded with a Tripadvisor certificate of excellence every year since. As animal lovers, they welcome dogs into the pub gardens as well as the main restaurant — we are a country pub after all!!
